Membership in AIA

Prospective Members
Alpha Iota Alpha is a non-collegiate sorority, which means we are not affiliated with any colleges or universities, and our members are not required to have attended college or have a degree. As a non-denominational Christian organization, our sisterhood is comprised of women within the Christian
faith from all denominations.
To be considered for membership, you must 1) have received salvation through the saving grace of Jesus Christ, 2) be at least 21 years of age, and 3) not be a member of any of the Divine 9 or other Christian sororities.
Our Intake Process
01
Online Application & Fee
To be considered for membership, candidates must complete our online application and remit the $25 application fee.
02
Initial Interview (by phone)
03
Second Interview
The second interview is an essential step in the process because it allows both the candidate and the organization to assess their mutual benefit and overall fit for one another.
If invited to a second interview, the candidate meets with the pledge team and delves into a deeper discussion about various topics that shed light on how the candidate aligns with the Sorority, our values, sisterhood, our foundation on faith, love, and forgiveness, community service, and other topics.
Once an application has been received and processed, the subsequent step is to arrange an initial phone interview to learn more about the candidate, demographics, vocation, and interests, share more about the Sorority, and answer any questions she may have.
04
"Pledging"
Our "pledge" process is unique in the reality that we don't pledge to the organization in any way, shape, or form. As Bible-believing women, our only pledge is to the God of the Bible, and as believers, we take no oaths or make any covenants.
However, we do give our word to be committed to the biblical ideals and values of the Christian faith. Therefore, we have a curriculum-based process where new members learn about the organization's founding and history, how we function, our culture, how we fundraise and serve the community, and what it means to be ELITE as we grow deeper in the Lord and mature as women in God.
05
Crossing Ceremony
The crossing ceremony is an exciting experience for both new and current Sorors. It is a momentous occasion as it marks the culmination of dedication and hard work and the beginning of a new chapter within a dynamic and diverse community of women, with sisterhood, fellowship, and service in Christ - at the forefront.

Filled with laughter and tears of joy, experiencing the love and bond of sisterhood and camaraderie, covered in prayer - Pink Buds become Pink Roses and begin enjoying the beauty of being a member of the ELITE Alpha Iota Alpha Christian Sorority, Incorporated.
Ladies who have been accepted to join Alpha Iota Alpha and become a Soror of an ELITE organization are placed in the loving hands of our
Dean of Pledges (DOP), Soror Perseverance (right), and our Assistant Dean of Pledges (ADOP), Soror Commissioned (left).
